We recently had McLaughlin Flooring install engineered hardwood on the main level of our home as part of a renovation, and we couldn’t be more impressed with the results. From start to finish, Rick and his crew — Attila and Tamaz — were outstanding. Before even starting the installation, they took the time to properly prep the floors, ensuring the subfloor was level and clean so the final result would be absolutely perfect. That extra care and attention made all the difference. The installation itself was flawless. Every cut and seam is clean, and the transitions are seamless. The flooring looks stunning — it’s clear these guys are true craftsmen who take pride in their work. Rick was professional, responsive, and clearly knowledgeable, while Attila and Tamaz were courteous, efficient, and meticulous on site. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Rick scheduled a mutually convenient appointment to review the work site and provide a written estimate. Attila and Tamas arrived at the scheduled date and time reviewed the worksite and provided a detailed quote. Upon acceptance of the quote Rick scheduled a mutually convenient date and time for the completion of the quoted work. Attila and Tamas arrived at the scheduled date and time, layed out floor runners, completed the work and cleaned up the job site prior to leaving the job site. A job well done. Rick and his team are real professionals, he came and accurately measured everything, detailed all the job items priced individually, came prepared with matching color samples, offered a very competitive price and delivered on his commitment. They did install hardwood on the second floor and all the basement. Also, he brought Max to redo our stairs. Results are amazing!!

UPDATE 1.5 years later: Hardwood still looks and feels great. Barely any squeaking and only in the upstairs where we laid on top of the old subfloor. This would be a good result in a new house let alone a 100+ year old house with all the craziness they had to deal with. Thanks again Rick.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: We recently hired Rick and his crew to install new engineered hardwood throughout our 100+ year old home. From day one Rick was very straight forward with his quote and his advice. The floors were uneven and out of level and Rick made it very clear that although he does have a lot of experience working in older homes he could get it to be good, but not perfect. His quote was very detailed and scheduling the job was easy. Halfway through tearing up the old hardwood Rick calls me and tells me there’s an issue – turns out the old subfloor on the main floor, which was probably original, was in terrible shape and would need a complete replacement. Rick recommended we call in a carpenter to do this work and also make sure all the joists were in good shape. Luckily we found a great carpenter who was able to start the day after Rick’s team finished the upstairs. Rick worked with us to schedule the rest of the job immediately after the carpenter finished, which meant that we were still able to move in on time. Rick also came by to coordinate with the carpenter to make sure the hardwood would line up right with the kitchen tile, coordinate the vent size and heights, etc. If we had chosen to go with someone less experienced or flexible we could have been in real trouble, but Rick worked with us to get it done and did a terrific job. As others have said the work space was cleaned thoroughly (they even shop-vacced the heck out of the old subfloor to be removed) and they took care not to damage any walls etc. Great work all around.

Rick and his crew beautifully finished a hardwood job another contractor did not. It required ripping up old hardwood and laying down new hardwood in a hallway with multiple angles and matched all the rooms surrounding it. It was small, but complicated and we are thrilled with the results. Thanks, Mclaughlin Flooring!

I could not speak more highly of Rick and his team! I had been looking for a contractor after the dishwasher in my rental unit leaked and damaged all my floors. Rick was so incredibly professional, responsive, punctual and kind! Rick called me directly shortly after I had reached out to him. He scheduled a time with me the following day to see my condo and quote the job. Rick was so patient in explaining the entire process to me, he even came with me to meet with my property manager! The following week Rick and his team arrived at my unit to complete the job. They did an absolutely AMAZING job, my condo looked brand new!
